The Niagara Escarpment
Great gas fire. Heaters in bedrooms. Very well set up. Powder room. Great views. Friendly house. Quick response from host.
Paradise on The Escarpment
Living room aircon is good. Short walk to shops. Our kids loved roasting marshmallows over the outdoor firepit too. So much so we checked the brand of mattress for future reference for ourselves. Very well equipped and my 18year old son and husband enjoyed the wii game. When we arrived it was nice and warm inside, the gas fire place is great.. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed.
Our favourite spot was the front decking area, was lovely to sit out there in the morning, looking out onto the beautiful bush land with a cup of tea. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again! Access from the car parks. Some difficulty for older guests hauling luggage up the steps. Thin pillows. Noisy air conditioner.
Confusion with key code between emails from host and booking. It was warm and cosy. I couldn't start the gas fire. Gorgeous peaceful scenery, a very relaxing stay. Shower area slightly small.

Beds and blankets are amazing. Shower pressure was a little low, but I'm just fussy. Firepit would be nicer if it had benches or log seating around it. Any other weather, you should be enjoying nature regardless. Everything was great. Better weather! Great location and views; close to the shops and all walking trails. The main bed was very comfortable, all rooms were beautifully presented and the kitchen was very well equipped. The outdoor table and bbq area were a bit far away from back of house without lighting so not usable once it gets dark. Would be better during daylight savings and bbq small.
Water pressure in shower quite low. The beds were outstanding! Comfy big bed Nice and quiet. Not really a big deal but the firewood could use some sort of cover so it doesn't get wet although we were still able to light it, might just make it a bit easier.
Really loved the house, it was really clean and in a great location close to shops but still feels secluded. The location is lovely and of necessity has steps up to reach the house which also has steps up to the house veranda some rail here would be appreciated by less able folks.
House heated when we arrived on very cold day Good beds with lots of bedding Hot water with great pressure Good locality. Error: Please enter a valid email address. Error: Sorry. The fact that the escarpment's stone and gravel is located close to the major construction markets of southern Ontario is an added bonus. There are about 40 quarries and pits operating along the Niagara Escarpment. But quarrying is among the most controversial of escarpment issues. Environmentalists say no new quarries should be opened and no expansion of existing ones allowed to protect the escarpment.
Likely carved out by an ancient river and then gouged and filled by glaciers, the Dundas Valley is one of the richest natural treasures of the escarpment, offering a variety of rare and threatened plants, birds and wildlife. It's at Dundas Valley that visitors who think of Hamilton only as Steel Town have that perception washed away as they view the rugged outcrops of the Spencer Gorge, its waterfalls, the valley's lush forests and trails amid rolling hills, the marshes of Cootes Paradise and the Royal Botanical Gardens.

The falls - 57 metres high - were formed roughly 10, years ago by the action of retreating glaciers. There is some debate whether Robert Cavelier de La Salle and his party searching for an inland route to the Gulf of Mexico in are the first Europeans to see Niagara Falls. Some historians think Etienne Brule reached them in But Catholic missionary Father Louis Hennepin found them in and described them in his journal: "Betwixt the Lake Ontario and Erie is a vast and prodigious Cadence of Water which falls down after a surprising and astonishing manner, insomuch that the Universe does not afford its Parallel.
The wineries benefit from good soil, drainage and climate conditions warmed by winds from the lake and sheltered by the escarpment, creating the perfect growing conditions. The frozen sheets of ice covering Hamilton's Tews and Tiffany falls are the only two area spots where ice climbing is allowed. And with about two dozen other waterfalls -- the most in any urban centre in North America -- Hamilton can claim the title of City of Waterfalls.
